Happy Halloween from Crystal Compass! In celebration of our first Halloween, we would love to thank everyone for supporting us with a special illustration done by the wonderful Tarunei! Ryuu is embracing his warlock roots while his adorable love interests have donned costumes unique to their species.

Along with this illustration, we have some lore on Halloween traditions in the world of Rozalia City, home to our amazing cast of characters!

Warlocks/Dragons

• Warlocks: With a touch of magic and some creativity, warlocks and witches hold festivals under the moonlit night of Halloween. They don costumes that resemble what their ancestors wore -- dark hooded robes embellished with gold lining and locks of Moon Whisper (an iridescent silver thread woven from Crescent Cotton, a flower that blooms only on the eve of Halloween).  

• Dragons: As a species that values bonds and blood ties, dragons pay homage to their ancestors and clan founders with gifts or offerings. Children are given the chance to spread their wings and take flight with their parents after a bountiful meal. 

Unicorns

• Unicorns enjoy private Halloween celebrations and are not particularly fond of boisterous outdoor events. They tend to have quiet dinners followed by a performance from the representative head of each family house. Every performance is practiced a month in advance and is unique to the family's traditions. 

Vampires

• Vampires prefer to celebrate amongst their own kind, with extravagant feasts with luxury blood or blood-flavored cuisine. While vampires tend to prioritize their own clans above all, Halloween is a holiday where they often intermingle with other clans and forge connections that may last centuries. After a lavish meal and socializing, couples will dance under the moonlight to strengthen their blood bond between one another.

Incubi/Succubi

• Most incubi/succubi celebrate their identities on Halloween with lively festivals with fun games and prizes. They are some of the most social of the species residing in Rozalia City, and they aren’t afraid to flaunt it, inviting other species to partake in their customs. While incubi/succubi are immune to alcohol, many of them enjoy bewitched cocktails to add a little buzz to their systems.
