Update #5 — Extended Demo Progress

Hello everyone!

It's been awhile! We hope you're all doing well during these trying times. We hope to shine some light in your day by sharing some updates about the current progress of The Glass Coffin.

Release Plan

Our release plan has shifted in relation to the current situation with COVID-19. We initially planned on releasing the extended demo by the end of Q2 of 2020, but we're going to push back the date to ensure the project is released in a polished state.

With that being said, we have lots of exciting updates to share with everyone.

Current Progress

Ren has finished writing all of the new content for the extended demo! She and Ende have also completed several editing passes to get the script into a polished state. Ende is just about done  programming all of the new content in. The next step will be putting in new sounds and art assets, as well as updating the GUI.

Art

Aside from writing and programming progress, we have also moved forward in the art department!

As you may have already noticed, the store page has undergone some changes -- there's a new background and thumbnail for TGC, thanks to the combined efforts of our team members.

We are happy to announce that three talented artists have joined us on our final stretch to the completion of the extended demo:

  • Re.Alice, our logo and GUI artist, who has worked on projects such as Legend of Rune.
  • VelinquenT, background artist, who has worked on Doki Doki Literature Club.
  • Elena S (DeadFishDream), our item artist, who will be creating various art assets for the game.

Thanks to their contributions, The Glass Coffin is going to look better than ever before. Among the game's new assets is a new logo, courtesy of Re.Alice

Mini Games

Another exciting update to look forward to in the extended demo is a mini game. The mini game will combine simple point-and-click investigation elements to enhance the gameplay and story experience.

We will be incorporating mini games in the full game as well to introduce new, enjoyable, and cohesive interactive experiences for you all!

Creator Blog

We also released our first creator blog for TGC, authored by writer and producer, Ren. The blog provides an in-depth look into what the development process for The Glass Coffin has been like over the past year, from the challenges to the achievements. We're looking to release another creator blog in the near future.

Looking Forward

As we approach the final stage of development for the extended demo, we’d like to thank everyone for your patience and never ending support. We’ve received so much love for TGC, and it inspires us to keep pushing forward with this project.

If you’d like to continue supporting TGC, the best way to do it is by rating, reviewing, or contributing directly by naming a price when downloading the game or through Patreon, and of course, sharing the game with your friends.

Any and all support is greatly appreciated and goes a long way into bringing this project to life.

Stay safe, and please look forward to our next update!

Thanks for the update!  :)  I've demo'd all 3 of your current projects (and am very excited for all of them), but TGC is the one I'm most looking forward to.  I can't wait for the extended demo!  I had just checked all 3 a couple days ago, for updated/extended demos, and was disappointed (though completely understanding, due to what's going on right now) that there weren't any... so it was such a pleasant surprise to see this update in my feed today.  Wishing you all the best for this project (and the others!).  The wait, for full releases, is going to be...ugh!  :(  :P

Thank you for your kind words! It makes us so happy to hear that you enjoyed not just one, but all 3 of our demos. We appreciate that you gave them all a shot, and we're glad that we brightened up your day in some way. :) Lots of good things are coming soon for TGC, both in terms of the story and the overall improvements -- we'll make sure the long wait is absolutely worth it!
